Students Design Award-Winning Sound Wall

Mines engineering students designed an award-winning sound-wall that has reduced traffic noise from Sixth Avenue as their Senior Design project. Their project began in 2008, and after construction was completed last spring, the project won the 2010 City of Lakewood Community Sustainability Award for its use of 3,330 recycled tires.
