This presentation is an overview of research into the biomechanics of walking among individuals with lower-limb amputations. Given by Anne Silverman, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Colorado School of Mines, the talk outlines how she collected data on movement using tracking technologies developed for making animated movies. In addition to providing valuable information for practicing physical therapists, Silverman hopes her ongoing research and the techniques shes developed for gathering data contribute to improving ambulatory mobility for an expanding population of amputees. This talk was delivered in April 2012 on the Colorado School of Mines campus as part of Alumni Weekend activities. (This recording includes audio and presentation slides.)
