Joseph J. Rebeck ’53 of Evergreen, Colo., died November 6, 2011. Bud, as he was known, was born in 1931. He earned a professional degree in mining engineering from Mines, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and played varsity football. The 1951 team, of which he was a member, was inducted into Mines’ Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999. During his career, Bud worked for Williamson Shaft Contracting and Standard Lafarge. He enjoyed excursions into the mountains accompanied by one of the eight beagles he owned over his lifetime. He was named Kiwanan of the Year several times. Bud and his wife, Linda, played bridge and owned season tickets to the Denver Broncos for many years. He is survived by his wife; sons Paul and Mitchell; daughter Jennifer; and three grandchildren.
