Newly Named College Names Dean
Jan 6th, 2012 | By Amie Chitwood | Category: Web ExtrasFollowing discussions with faculty, the Faculty Senate, and academic department heads, a name has been chosen for Colorado School of Mines’ first college: the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences.
Composed of four departments—Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Applied Mathematics and Statistics—the college also has a new dean: Kevin Moore, G.A. Dobelman Distinguished Chair and professor of engineering. After serving as interim dean since August, Moore was officially named to the position on January 3. In addition, John McCray was recently named as head of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department after serving in the position on an interim basis during the fall semester.
